St. James’ supports the great work of our sister church, Annunciation Roman Catholic Church, located next door to us. Annunciation’s pantry is open Tuesdays from 9 am to 11 am. Ann Lum, who heads up the food pantry, says they serve over 200 families each month and the need always jumps in the summer. Whether one can or a 100 pound bag of rice, your Kokua is very much appreciated.
Donations may be brought directly to Annunciation or to St. James’ on Sunday mornings. The children from the Waimea Country School, located on St. James’ Circle, take the food items donated at St. James’ to Annunciation.
Food items that are always needed: Canned goods (Tuna, Chicken, Spam, Green Beans, Tomatoes, Peas, Corn, Pineapple, Peaches, Spaghetti Sauce with or without meat); Spaghetti pasta (dry not canned), Ramen, Rice, Cheerios.
