The Rev. Kawika Jackson
Assisting Priest For Junior and Senior High Youth Ministries
Kawika’s ministry has a specific focus in helping our parish discern and establish a ministry to and with Junior & Senior High youth. Our agreement is for six months, which could be renewable after that. His goal to establish a team ministry and to help us identify someone who lives locally who will eventually move into the position of Coordinator of the Junior & Senior High Ministries. He begins his ministry with us by meeting with youth, parishioners, school representatives, and other churches as he helps our parish identify needs, opportunities and expand this area of ministry. He will be establishing weekly opportunities for youth to gather in friendship and spiritual formation, worship, service projects, and support.
Kawika brings with him a wealth of experience as:
In his ministry as priest, Kawika will be participating in worship in that capacity as needed. He will be at both St. James’ services and St. Columba’s one weekend a month. The other weekends he could likely be supplying at our other island churches that need priestly help when no priest is available.
He and his wife, Muriel, have a home in Kona.
