Sunday Keiki Ministry Coordinator (Part-Time)

St. James' Episcopal Church, Waimea, Hawaiʻi Island

Do you have a heart for children? Do you enjoy helping young people discover God's love through storytelling, worship, play, and community?

St. James' Episcopal Church is seeking a joyful, organized, and caring person to serve as our Sunday Keiki Ministry Coordinator. This part-time position (approximately 6–8 hours per week) offers the opportunity to help shape a vibrant ministry where children and families experience the love, grace, and welcome of Christ.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating our Godly Play Sunday morning ministry.
  • Overseeing our Nursery Ministry, including supporting and scheduling nursery attendants.
  • Helping children participate meaningfully in Sunday worship through activities such as the offering, music, seasonal celebrations, and other age-appropriate opportunities.

Working alongside our clergy, staff, including our Junior and Senior High Youth Pastor, Josh Anthony, volunteers, families, and the future Children's Ministry Coordinator at St. Columba's, the Sunday Keiki Ministry Coordinator will help create a safe, joyful, and welcoming environment where every child and family knows they belong and can grow in the love of Christ. We're looking for someone who:

  • Loves children and enjoys building relationships with families.
  • Has a mature Christian faith and a desire to share God's love.
  • Is organized, dependable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Brings enthusiasm, creativity, and a spirit of hospitality.

Compensation: $25–28 per hour, depending on experience.
