We're Hiring

Junior & Senior High Youth Leader (Part-Time)

Is your passion working with junior and senior high youth?

Would you like to make an impact in a nurturing, joyful, and spiritual community?

We are seeking a part-time (25 hours/week) Youth Ministry Leader to help our growing parish connect with, minister to our young people, and extend that ministry into the wider community.

We are looking for an energetic, entrepreneurial, and mission-minded individual—a committed Christian—who feels called to share God’s grace, particularly with junior and senior high youth. This role is about more than programs—it’s about building relationships, nurturing faith, and being a steady, grace-filled presence in the lives of young people. The right candidate will bring creativity, compassion, and a heart for walking alongside teens in their faith journeys.

This part-time position includes a competitive salary and benefits, including health insurance, pension, vacation, and sick leave. It’s an ideal role for someone with a deep love for youth ministry and a desire to make a lasting difference in the lives of young people.

Note: Being an ordained minister is not a requirement for the position.

Junior & Senior High Youth Leader Position Update

April 15From David, our Rector

Back in January, I invited the parish to prayerfully consider the need for a Junior and Senior High Youth Leader (Lay Pastor). This is a lay position (not ordained), though an ordained individual could certainly serve in this role.

Because this position was not included in our original budget, I reached out to see if there were those who felt called to help fund it for one year. I’m grateful to share that several of you responded generously, offering to contribute above your regular giving to support the 2025 parish operating budget.

Thanks to your kindness and support, we now have sufficient funding to offer a 25-hour-per-week position, with a pay range of $23–$25 per hour, and full benefits (including health insurance and pension) for one year!

This new role will focus on serving the Junior and Senior High youth at both St. Columba’s and St. James’. A full position description is now available through our parish website and newsletter.

Please continue to pray that God will call the right person for this ministry—someone who will be a joyful and faithful fit for this season in our parish’s life.

Note: Susan Acacio, our Keiki and Family Ministry Coordinator, continues to lead our ministry with young children and their families, both within our church and in the wider community. Many of you will remember that Susan had previously retired—but after the pandemic, we were (and still are!) richly blessed by her return in a part-time role.
